My boy brran1 did a Q&A session post with his readers that I really liked, so I figured while I’m traveling it would make for a decent post.
Here’s your chance to find out everything you’ve wanted to know about me. Post your questions in the comment section and I’ll reply to each one.

I’m gonna pose your original question to you. What do you consider to be your strengths and weaknesses?
[Reply]
I had a feeling that would be your question.
Strengths: affable, ambitious, free-thinking, generous, intelligent
Weaknesses: enigmatic, impatient, impulsive, indecisive, perfectionist

What do you expect to get out of this I guess….”blogsite”? Is this something you do for fun? Something to do when you are bored? What made you want to blog?
[Reply]
I want to Do Good and Do Well (DGADW). If this site helps position me to do so, that’s great. If it doesn’t, it’s okay because I love what I do. I view it as a step in my career plan, but it’s also fun.
I’ve been blogging for nearly a decade to share my thoughts with anyone who wants to read them.
[Reply]
Also…how old are you?
[Reply]
I am 24.
[Reply]
Venus or Serena? Mary-Kate or Ashley?
[Reply]
Serena. Ashley.

If you become rich and famous, would you continue to date black women or would you leave them completely out of the loop?
[Reply]
Of course I’d continue to date black women. Dating outside of one’s race does not mean you’ve reached the pinnacle of success.
[Reply]
Why don’t you post your responses to everyone’s questions?
What is something about you that your mom only knows? Dad?

I’ve been in the middle of unpacking from a recent trip and packing for an upcoming move. Not to mention my other obligations.
Nothing comes to mind.
[Reply]
Man that answer was lame.. aight. How bout what was the last thing you bought yourself, and what personality trait really impresses you in others? Ha, try to answer that with “nothing comes to mind” .
[Reply]
LOL!
The last things I bought myself were a wireless router and an office set (desk, utility stand and bookcase).
Ambition. Gotta respect someone doing what it takes to bring their goals and ideas into fruition.

How did you get started with Concrete Loop?
[Reply]
Angel, Brian, Tianna and I frequented the 730 Forums some time ago around 1999 or 2000, so I’ve known them all for quite some time. Once I began blogging, Angel read my work and continued to do so throughout the years. Last summer, she hit me up and asked if I’d be interested in writing for Concrete Loop. I, of course, said yes, and the rest, as they say, is history.

DO YOU DATE BLACK WOMEN OR BLACK ME, BOTH OR NEITHER?
[Reply]
Black women.
[Reply]
lmao, i can’t wait to read your responses to some of these questions, J.
Describe a lesson about life that you had to learn the hard way (because you were too hard-headed to listen to people’s advice and warnings, haha).

Feels like an admissions essay, but here goes…Haha.
Those closest to me know that I’m a huge procrastinator, so if I’m working on something major they always ask how’s it coming and what-not. I had pretty much the entire semester to work on a senior business paper, but, of course, I waited until the last minute. I didn’t start until noon the day it was due and it had to be turned in at six. I went to the computer lab because I knew I’d be tempted to waste time on the web if I stayed at my place…although it’s not like I couldn’t have done that in the lab, but I digress. I sat there for nearly six straight hours and did what I needed to and made a B+ on it.
I’ve always felt I do my best work under pressure, but researching and composing a corporate analysis of over twenty pages in such a short amount of time really proved it.
It also made me realize that you shouldn’t wait until the last minute to do things. Anything can happen and if it’s not done, there you are looking like Boo Boo the fool.

Ok, I’m back with another one:
What does ‘Doing Good and Doing Well’ (DGADW) mean to you? I’ve noticed that you mentioned it alot when talking about your career aspirations. Was that something you came up with on your own, or did you come up with it from somewhere?
[Reply]
DGADW, for me, means that it’s cool that I’m making money. The catch is that I’m doing whatever I can to help others with it.
I first became familiar with DGADW while reading an article which mentioned it was the credo of the late, famed attorney Johnnie Cochran. Back then, I wanted to become a lawyer and Cochran, “the people’s lawyer,” was the epitome of what I wanted to become.
I’ve written more on the subject in a J. Dakar On feature.
DGADW is a movement and I’m planning an organization that acts as a nonprofit corporation, with various subsidiaries that are actually campaigns for various causes such as education, health, the arts, et al.
[Reply]
Ok, I got you. Keep me posted with the status of that organization you’re planning. Maybe I could help with something.
[Reply]
Definitely, man!

If you could spend a day picking the brain of a celebrity, who would it be and why?
[Reply]
That’s an easy one: Kanye West.
Dude is at the top of the game, making major moves and he’s only 31. Just imagine what he’ll be doing in a few years.
[Reply]
I HAVE ANOTHER ONE! WHAT DOES J STAND FOR?
[Reply]
Jeffery.
[Reply]
As of today, is there one thing you regret doing, saying, or seeing?
[Reply]
In retrospect, I’ve done some things I’m not entirely proud of; I’ve done some things I suppose I should be ashamed of; however, I regret nothing, knowing that everything I’ve done in the past has made me who I am today.
I ask that I be forgiven for said things, as that is all any of us can do.
