Please, Please, Please

Now, usually, I don’t do this but uh…I really need your help.

I launched the J. Dakar Walk for PKD Campaign one month ago and I’ve received only a single donation.

What’s it going to take for me to get you to donate?

Is it telling you that polycystic kidney disease (PKD) is the most common of all life-threatening genetic diseases and there is no treatment and no cure?

Or mentioning that since I have the disease, my kidneys might one day fail and I’ll then be force to endure dialysis or receive a kidney transplant?

Would you be more apt to donate if I sent you a personal email requesting your assistance? If you’re in my address book, look forward to receiving one soon!

Even if you can’t donate monetarily, you can mention this to others so we can find a cure and raise awareness.

I’m begging you…

I was going to ask you yesterday about that, was wondering if someone in your family had PKD or maybe if you lost someone behind it. Was just curious as to why out of all diseases that are out there was your purpose of choosing this one.

Yeah, I have it. My mom, my grandmother and a couple of uncles also have it.

I was at UCSF in the pathology lab and saw what a person’s kidney with PKD can look like. Come the first of the month, I’ll donate.

I would love to help, but I currently have beef with our nation’s entire health care system and all the foundations that are “supposedly” looking for cures for diseases we don’t have to have in the first place (long story I’ll share one day when all my research is finished). There are inexpensive all natural cures for virtually every illness. When I run across one for this particular disease, I’ll be sure to pass it on to you.

    P.S. Welcome back!!! lol

I feel you, Bre, and in the immortal words of the late, great Tupac Shakur—”I ain’t mad at cha.”

[…] Being Bereolaesque and possessing gentlemanly etiquette is a selfless act in and of itself. So this weekend before you “make it rain” and after you’ve set aside your tithes, stash some cash away for a local charity. Donate to a cause that either preserves our mother earth or preserves a worthy life. Might I suggest J. Dakar’s Walk for PKD Campaign? […]
