The Food
I’ve long felt there’s a conspiracy at hand when it comes to eating healthy.
Those who can’t afford to eat healthier food options eat what they can afford and it’s often crap, having little or no nutritional value and offering hundreds of unnecessary calories. Alternatively, those who can afford to eat healthy still waste money on crap because they’ve become so accustomed to its taste, and although it may taste good, it doesn’t mean it’s good for you.
If healthy food items were more readily available (and affordable), I think more people would choose to eat healthy because of the benefits of doing so.

This is such a huge issue that gets ignored by the American Public. The amount of control a few MNCs have on the world food supply and prices of staples is frightening. More frightening is the conscious dependence certain companies have pushed for on their unhealthily processed foods. Have you seen Morgan Spurlock’s SuperSize Me? A little outrageous, but he makes a good point. The affects of a diet rich in processed products will not only affect your waistline and shorten your lifespan, but also make it more difficult to be motivated, energetic and alert. In my mind it’s a major component of the cycle of poverty in the US. And definitely falls under the category of WTF! Glad to see I’m not the only one who thinks so!
